Our Story
Bumblebee Bakeshop is owned and operated by two sisters whose love of baking led them to create a business that focuses on designing beautiful cakes that actually taste good too. That's why you'll only find the finest and freshest ingredients like pure cane sugar, artisanal chocolate, sweet cream butter and real vanilla in all our baked-to-order desserts.
Lisa, a mother of two active little ones who are addicted to their mom's cake creations, honed her baking skills at New York's Institute of Culinary Education and Los Angeles's New School of Cooking. A UC Berkeley grad with an MBA from New York University, she spent several years in the corporate world, holding various management roles in marketing and business development at several major companies and start-up organizations.
Mel, a certified dessert junkie also from UC Berkeley, has written feature food articles for the Wall Street Journal, wrote her own dessert blog for the New York Daily News and critiqued specialty foods and desserts for the online magazine The Nibble. She has also held stints at San Francisco Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazine.
To keep prices reasonable and to focus efforts on maintaining the high quality of its custom-designed cakes and cookies, Bumblebee Bakeshop does not have a retail storefront. As a result, we do not offer a pick up option, but we do deliver all orders directly to your home, office or party venue within San Francisco at no additional charge.
